What is Access Control?
Installing the correct Access Control solution for you will help provide protection to your employees, visitors, stock and your property. In very simple terms, Access Control Systems provide control of entry (or exit) through nominated doors via a control panel and some form of electric locking facility. Access Control Systems can be as simple or as complicated as you desire, but in each case the solution will always provide an easy passage for permitted persons around the building.
Where can Access Control be used?
Access Control can be used throughout a property. It is mainly situated for use infront of access gates, security doors and traffic barriers. Each type of access control is specifically designed to suit every application and all systems can be easily intergrated to other security systems.
Types of Access Control
- PIN code: entry via mechanical pushbutton lock, electronic keypad, or touch sensitive pad
- 'Magstripe' Readers: users have cards which are coded these are swiped through a card reader at each access point to gain entry.
- Proximity Readers: another type of card system where by the user has a card or tag that they present to the reader to gain access a generally faster way of gaining access.
- Biometric Readers: an advanced and sophisticated method of access control using human characteristics to clearly identify permitted access. Geometric patterns are stored on the biometric readers these include finger prints or a retina scan both of which are unique to that one individual who you are giving access permission to.
- Long-Range Readers: another type of card system using active cards, with long range proximity readers, you can automatically unlock or open a door when the reader detects the card.
